10 Greatest Moments From Hulk Hogan's Legendary Career

2. Madison Square Garden 1984

On January 23, 1984 at a televised WWF House Show in the famous MSG arena, Hulk Hogan challenged Champion The Iron Sheik for his WWF World Heavyweight Championship.

When Hulk Hogan pinned The Sheik’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3, he made history by winning his very first World Title after only being back in the WWF for a few weeks at that point.

That marks the day when HulkaMania (in the WWF, not including AWA here) was born and the professional wrestling business was changed forever!

1. WrestleMania III

On March 29, 1987 in the main event of the WWF WrestleMania III PPV, Champion Hulk Hogan defended his WWF World Championship against the challenger, 7″4′ tall André The Giant.

André had been undefeated for 15 years (kayfabe) and the build up to the actual match is still considered one of the best build ups in history.

Eventho other matches on the card that night were a lot quicker and also entertained the crowd a lot, like Randy Savage vs Steamboat, or The Harts with Danny Davis vs. The Bulldogs with Tito Santana, the reason why most if not all of the alleged 93,682 Fans in the crowd bought the tickets, was to see Hogan vs André.

That match was just a great draw.

The Hulkster then bodyslammed André to the mat and defeated him after 12 minutes to retain his World Title.

This is still one of the most historic and important matches in Professional Wrestling history.
