30 Possible Surprise Entrants For The 2017 Royal Rumble Match

We only listed realistic scenarios, so no “Stone Cold” Steve Austin or Shawn Michaels (despite San Antonio being his home town) … the 30 Wrestlers listed here are all physically able to still do a Royal Rumble match.

Also we didn’t include NXT Superstars like Samoa Joe, who will most likely have his main roster debut in this year’s Royal Rumble Match.

Being an OLD SCHOOL Community we mainly focused on Wrestlers from the past and did NOT include any indy wrestlers / internet wrestlers.

1, 2 or even 3 of the Wrestlers listed here might actually compete in the 2017 Royal Rumble match, who knows??

Here you go. Enjoy!

30. Jim Duggan

The first ever winner of a (televised) Royal Rumble match, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan used to be an upper mid-card guy in both, the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling.

Duggan is 63 years old, but he can still do a short appearance where he gets eliminated pretty quickly.

Keep in mind that, in order to compete in a battle royal type of match, all you need to be able to do, is to take & give punches & kicks and get over the top rope.

That is if you come in while multiple wrestlers are already in the ring, which would obviously be the case here.

29. Haku

Former WWF / WCW Veteran “King” Haku (Meng) is remembered as one of THE toughest men ever in Professional Wrestling history.

At age 57 Haku can still go in the ring, which he proved when he was a surprise entrant in the 2016 New Japan Pro Wrestling version of the Royal Rumble.

28. Hardcore Holly

This 15 year WWF/WWE Veteran hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since 2008.

Bob Holly still wrestles on the american independent scene and has also wrestled a few matches in Europe over the past few years.

27. Jushin Liger

This puroresu (japanese Wrestling) Legend has competed all over the world for 30 years!

The last time Jushin “Thunder” Liger wrestled in a WWE ring was at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 2015, where he defeated then developmental Wrestler Tyler Breeze.

Could you imagine him being a surprise entrant in the 2017 Royal Rumble match?
