4. The Authors Of Pain
The Authors Of Pain were a force to reckon during their run in NXT. WWE expected them to be a big deal when they called the duo on the main roster. However, the inconsistent booking of the team completely ruined their momentum and they lost direction on the main roster.
The duo was having a decent run with Paul Ellering as their manager, but WWE replaced him with Drake Maverick soon after the team joined the main roster. AOP were quite successful on RAW and even won the RAW Tag Team Championship.
Despite winning the Tag Team Gold, AOP could not gain any momentum. WWE removed them from television for quite a few months.
Recently, they returned to TV and have been featured in vignettes on RAW for the past couple of weeks. It looks like WWE has repackaged them and they may return to in-ring action with a new gimmick.
With the Draft coming up this Friday, AOP may be one of the biggest picks for either of the rosters. AOP is one of the monstrous heel teams that WWE desperately needs right now because AEW is quickly stepping up its game in tag team wrestling.
