3. The end of The Rock – Triple H rivalry
The Rock taking on Triple H has been teased for almost an year now. It started on a pre-taped segment which aired on SmackDown where they talked about facing each other at WrestleMania.
Rumors then began that the two legends are scheduled to face off at WrestleMania 31. But as we all know, The Rock didn’t wrestle at the event while Triple H ended up facing Sting. Problems started between them at Royal Rumble 2015 when The Rock made a surprise return to help Roman Reigns fight off Kane & Big Show. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon came out after the match was over and weren’t happy with The Rock interfering in something he had nothing to do with.
The Rock then interfered Triple H & Stephanie’s in-ring announcement of the attendance record at WrestleMania 31 teased a match with Triple H again. This segment ended up involving UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, who took out both The Game & Steph.
Now we all know that if Ronda Rousey were to wrestle next year at WrestleMania 32, she’ll have to get the permission from UFC president Dana White. If she doesn’t get the permission, then Triple H vs. The Rock should happen. If it doesn’t, then all this build-up would be a waste.
It makes sense. The Rock & Triple H finally go 1 on 1 for the last time ever and put an end to one of the biggest rivalry of the Attitude Era!
