1. WCW Original beat both Triple H & Steve Austin in 1995
Have you ever heard about “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright?
Well, if you’re an Old School Fan who at least watched a little bit of WCW World Championship Wrestling on TV every now and then, back in the day, then you certainly know who this man is. With his father, famous European Wrestler Steve Wright, Alex is a second generation Superstar, who was just as much of a high flyer as he was a technical Specialist.
A Type of Wrestler we didn’t see too many of back in the day. What most people don’t know is that he defeated 2 of the greatest Wrestling Superstars of all time, that year. To be fair they weren’t really popular at that point yet, as Steve Austin was stuck in mid-card and Triple H (then competing under the name of Jean-Paul Levesque) was a green rookie, who’s career had just started.
Alex Wright beat Jean-Paul Levesque already on the 1994 Starrcade PPV but defeated him yet again during a WCW Main Event Taping on January 1, 1995.
On March 21, 1995 during a TV Taping of WCW Pro, Alex got a DQ win over the future “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who ended up getting fired from WCW later that year.
