6 Things That Didn’t Happen In WWE In 2014, But Were Supposed To Happen

5. Cesaro winning Money in the Bank and cashing in at SummerSlam

After Cesaro won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30, he became a “Paul Heyman Guy” the next night on WWE Monday Night Raw.

So at that time, there were 2 Paul Heyman Guys on the WWE roster: Brock Lesnar & Cesaro. Both of them were red hot with the crowd. Lesnar was (and still is) on a major push, after he defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 and ended the streak. There were plans for Cesaro to win Money in the Bank contract and then turn on Paul Heyman by cashing in on Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by defeating John Cena in the main event of SummerSlam 2014, and we would have seen Cesaro cashing in and winning the WWE World Title at that event. However, Cesaro removed his tag as the Paul Heyman Guy and separated himself from Heyman, and didn’t win anything.

Cesaro’s singles career went downhill. He eventually teamed up with Tyson Kidd and won the Tag Team Titles and is now receiving a singles push in 2015.
