6 Things That Didn’t Happen In WWE In 2014, But Were Supposed To Happen

2. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar

Daniel Bryan was injured in May last year and WWE thought he would be back for Money in the Bank PPV to defend the WWE World Title.

He was booked in a match with Kane at Money in the Bank 2014. This match was officially announced as a Stretcher match but the match was cancelled after WWE learned that Bryan would be out for a long time.

This match was first rumored to be a Buried Alive match, in which Kane would’ve been Buried Alive and written off WWE TV to promote his movie, but that didn’t happen. Bryan was stripped off the WWE World Title and John Cena became the new champion by winning a Ladder match for the vacant title.

Bryan’s injury also resulted in a big match being changed at last year’s SummerSlam. Daniel Bryan was supposed to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar in the main event of SummerSlam. But with Bryan being out due to injury, he was replaced by the new WWE World Champion, John Cena.
