6 Things That Didn’t Happen In WWE In 2014, But Were Supposed To Happen

4. Batista’s WWE World Title Victory at WrestleMania 30

Batista returned to WWE on January 20, 2014 after almost 4 years. He announced himself as an entrant in the Royal Rumble match.

On Batista’s first appearance on Raw after his return, he had a face-off with then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton.

At that time, the plan was for Batista to headline WrestleMania 30 with Randy Orton and defeat him to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Batista won the Royal Rumble match and earned the right to headline WrestleMania.

However, due to negative crowd reaction towards Batista, he turned heel and the decision to add Daniel Bryan to the match was made and then we all witnessed how it went down at WrestleMania 30. Batista then left WWE in June when he didn’t get his 1 on 1 WWE World Title match (kayfabe).
