• Big Update On SmackDown’s Future

According to WrestleVotes, SmackDown will remain a 3-hour show for the foreseeable future.

The show was originally scheduled to move back to 2 hours in June, but USA Network has been happy with the viewership numbers for the 3rd hour and want this format to continue.

While USA Network officials might be happy with a 3-hour SmackDown, previous reports suggest that many within WWE’s production and creative teams are not pleased with the extended show. They feel the three-hour format makes the pacing weaker, adds filler content, and causes creative burnout.

Instead of showcasing new talent, the extra hour has been filled with less important segments. Some compare it to Monday Night RAW, which has faced similar complaints since it expanded to 3 hours in 2012.

• John Cena Explains Why He Decided To Retire This Year

On Stephanie’s Places, Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena explained why he will retire at the end of this year:

“I can’t do those lifts anymore because my body’s so beat up, so as soon as I got through that jagged pill of like, ‘oh man I’m never gonna overhead press 374 pounds ever again’. But let’s work to see what the best I can for today is.

It’s a very similar course to WWE. My skills are on regress. If I continue at a full-time physical capability or involvement, I’m not gonna run right, my partner’s not gonna run right, our relationship isn’t gonna run right.

Sorry kid, it’s time to close this chapter. I wish I was 18, I wish I felt great because I don’t feel more at home, besides in the arms of my wife, than I do on a canvas.”

• Triple H Is Not A Fan Of Popular WWE Concept

According to WrestleVotes, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H is not a fan of the Money In The Bank concept. After HHH took over the creative process in 2022, he was responsible for booking Austin Theory to cash-in the Money In The Bank contract on a mid-card championship (United States Championship), which had never been done before, and still losing. Many fans consider this the worst MITB cash-in of all time.

Below is the updated match-card for Money In The Bank 2025 on June 7:

– Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena & Logan Paul vs. Cody Rhodes & World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Becky Lynch

Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Seth Rollins vs. Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight vs. Penta vs. 2 TBD

Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Giulia vs. 2 TBD
