• Bubba Ray Dudley Reveals How He & D-Von Dudley Earned The APA’s Respect
WWE Hall Of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently appeared on an episode of the ‘Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw’ podcast, where he spoke about earning The APA’s respect by shaking their hands after Bradshaw (JBL) & Faarooq (Ron Simmons) beat the crap out of The Dudley Boyz.

Bubba Ray: “I remember like it was yesterday. We had to attack you guys, and I said, ‘D-Von, no matter what we do, whether we take care of them, whether we beat the sh*t out of them. They’re gonna beat the sh*t out of us, so we might as well give it to them first and show them that we respect them, but we’re not afraid of them because they’re gonna hand us our a$$ anyway’ and that first night I cracked you with that two by four.”
JBL: “Bubba hit me so hard with that two by four, I lost feeling in my feet and my hand. That’s how hard he hit me. I literally am sitting there thinking, ‘He just paralyzed me!’ I’m not kidding ya. Of course, I haven’t been hit by too many two by fours I didn’t wrestle Hacksaw very often. I’ve never been hit like that in my life.”
Bubba Ray: “And now we’re gonna go live, and Ron and John are just right off the set. They’re waiting to do their run-in on us, and about a minute before we go live, I remember looking, and all the boys started to filter into the backstage area to watch this live shot. And when I saw that, I knew something was about to go down, here it comes.
And we’re going to go live in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and we start talking, and I can see steam coming out of Ron and John’s noses. They were ready to kill us. And that’s exactly what they did, they hit the set, they beat the crap out of us, Ron Simmons is picking up a 50-gallon drum, a shoot 50-gallon drum, and just having his way with the both of us.
They beat us up so freakin’ bad. And then when they yelled cut, me and D-Von got up. We shook their hands. And I think from that moment on; everything was totally fine.”
