• Former Champion Is Returning To WWE TV After 4 Years

Lince Dorado is officially returning to WWE TV after nearly 4 years away. Dorado will appear on the next episode of WWE Evolve. He’s been announced for a triple threat match alongside Jackson Drake and Jordan Oasis. The bout will serve as a qualifier for the new WWE Evolve Men’s Championship. Dorado last wrestled on WWE TV in September 2021, where he faced Cedric Alexander on WWE Main Event. He was released from the company two months later. Earlier this year, he rejoined WWE in a dual role as both a wrestler and trainer, officially starting back in February.

Though he hasn’t appeared on TV since returning, Dorado has been active at untelevised NXT live events. He’s wrestled and won matches against Osiris Griffin, Dion Lennox, Drako Knox, and Anthony Luke.

Lince Dorado is a former WWE 24/7 Champion and was a part of Lucha House Party. He also wrestled a couple of matches in AEW in 2023.

• Tony Khan Sends A Message To WWE For Counter-Programming AEW PPVs

WWE has been counter-programming AEW PPVs a lot as of late. Last night’s AEW Double Or Nothing PPV went head-to-head against the WWE NXT Battleground PLE. WWE also scheduled a Saturday Night’s Main Event special (which is rumored to feature Goldberg’s retirement match) on the same date as AEW’s biggest PPV of the year, All In: Texas, on July 12. During the post-Double Or Nothing media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about WWE’s counter-programming tactics, and here’s what Khan replied:

“It’s pretty consistent. I’d say it’s the most consistent event head-to-head scheduling I’ve seen since Jim Crockett Promotions… saw a lot of scheduling that went that way.

I can tell you this will go a lot differently than that did.”

• Backstage News On WWE Bringing Back Evolution On July 13

WWE announced the return of Evolution, its all-women’s Premium Live Event, set for July 13 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. However, a surprising revelation has emerged: most of WWE’s female superstars were kept in the dark about Evolution 2 until the public announcement during Saturday Night’s Main Event, according to Fightful Select.

This lack of prior communication mirrors the secrecy surrounding the inaugural 2018 Evolution, where talents like Alexa Bliss noted WWE wanted “real reactions” to the news. The 2018 event was a historic milestone, featuring stars like Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Trish Stratus, and showcasing matches that elevated women’s wrestling.

Fans and performers alike have long demanded a sequel, with Bayley vocally championing its return recently. Yet, the decision to withhold details from the roster has sparked curiosity.

With a stacked roster, which includes talent like Stephanie Vaquer, who didn’t compete at the 2018 Evolution event, Evolution 2 promises to be a game-changer.
