While the Undertaker’s official WWF World Wrestling Federation debut happened at the Survivor Series 1990 PPV, there were already 2 matches taped prior to the PPV, that would both air after the PPV though.
Rumors have it, that the “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase just forgot the “Kane” part and called him “The Undertaker” when he announced him for his Survivor Series team, but what we know for a fact is, that from that point forward, he was officially known as “The Undertaker”, a gimmick that is still around in 2017.
While during Mean Gene Okerlund’s WWF Update segment the characters name was spelled “Kane”, while on another occasion it was spelled “Cain”, so both ways are basically correct, as it’s not known which of the 2 spelling methods was supposed to be his new in ring name.
