• Reason Behind Toni Storm Leaving WWE
According to PWInsider, SmackDown Superstar Toni Storm asked for her release from WWE and they granted it to her.
A memo was sent to the rest of the WWE locker room regarding Toni’s release, where the usual “budget cuts” wasn’t mentioned as the reason of the release.
According to Fightful Select, WWE Officials were “blindsided” by Toni asking for her release.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the only reason they’ve heard regarding Toni asking for her release is that she was burned out.
She lost to Charlotte Flair in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match on last week’s Christmas episode of SmackDown. She worked with Charlotte and Sasha Banks in SmackDown Women’s Title matches at this week’s Live Events.
AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. then posted a photo of Toni on Twitter, indicating that she wants Toni in All Elite Wrestling.
