Former WWE and Universal Champion Bray Wyatt unfortunately passed away at the age of 36 on Thursday.
He caught COVID-19 earlier this year which exacerbated heart issues. He was recovering from it for the past several months, but unfortunately, he suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away due to it.
Wyatt’s sudden death left everyone in a shock as most people were expecting him to be back in action soon after reports about him actively recovering from his illness had surfaced online.
WWE announced that all the proceeds from Wyatt’s merchandise sales on WWE Shop will be donated to his fiancee JoJo Offerman and his children.
According to insider source BWE, everything within WWE is on pause following Bray Wyatt’s tragic death. All meetings have been canceled for the foreseeable future.
It’s likely that WWE will also make changes to tonight’s SmackDown to make it a Bray Wyatt tribute show, instead of continuing regular storylines.
Before Wyatt’s death, WWE had announced the following card for SmackDown:
– WWE Women’s Championship Match: IYO SKY (c) vs. Zelina Vega
– United States Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Grayson Waller
– Jimmy Uso will appear
Rob Fee, Director of WWE Longterm Creative & a close friend of Wyatt, tweeted the following ahead of tonight’s show:
“Tonight is gonna be really special ❤️”
Cody was Bray’s mentor / pro on the original format of NXT and Strowman was a part of Bray’s Wyatt Family.
