• “Still Respected”: Wrestlers Privately Support Vince McMahon’s Potential Return
Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon recently made a move to buy into the world of combat sports once again, this time by trying to acquire a controlling stake in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), according to a report by Justin Barrasso. David Feldman, the founder and president of BKFC, confirmed the meeting and McMahon’s interest. Although the deal didn’t go through, Feldman had high praise for McMahon and his team. “He’s a great guy, his whole team is great, but the timing wasn’t right for us,” Feldman told Barrasoo. “He’s Vince McMahon—if I were him, I’d want creative control, too. He was awesome, very complimentary, and he was very serious to do business.”
Many in the combat sports and pro wrestling industries believe Vince McMahon could eventually return to the wrestling world in some form. Multiple executives across both industries have expressed the view that McMahon’s influence and passion for the business make his return seem inevitable.
Additionally, several wrestlers who spoke off the record to Barrasso voiced support for McMahon. They noted that, regardless of recent controversies, he remains a respected figure among many in the locker room and is still seen as someone who helped shape their careers.
• TKO Addresses Rumors Of Selling WWE
Rumors that TKO Group Holdings is planning to sell WWE have been shut down. According to the Wrestling Observer, the company has firmly denied any plans to sell the wrestling giant, despite recent speculation suggesting otherwise. Some of those rumors even claimed Vince McMahon might be trying to buy WWE back. However, the Observer noted that those reports have been strongly refuted by sources close to the situation.
They also pointed out that a sale wouldn’t make financial sense right now. TKO has already saved between $100 million and $150 million by cutting jobs and consolidating WWE and UFC operations under one staff, which makes the idea of selling WWE seem highly unlikely at this point.
• Big Angle Got Canceled On This Week’s RAW
On this week’s RAW, Liv Morgan got injured during her match against Kairi Sane. Michael Cole announced that Liv suffered a dislocated shoulder. In an update from Bodyslam, Liv needs surgery and will be out of action for 6 months. This means she’ll miss the rest of 2025. According to the Wrestling Observer, Nikki Bella was backstage on this week’s RAW and was scheduled to interfere in the Liv vs. Kairi match, likely costing Morgan the match. However, this plan got canceled after Liv’s injury.
WrestleVotes previously reported that the entire match-card for Evolution 2 has been affected due to Morgan’s injury:
“The injury has now caused a lot of the Evolution card to basically be scrapped, be ripped up, and start again from scratch because she was pegged for a big-time tag team match that is not going to happen now. That spot is gonna be filled by someone else and there’s a lot of ripple effects.”
The original plan for Evolution was Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella & Brie Bella). Liv was also involved in a program with Roxanne Perez and Women’s World Champion IYO SKY.
• MJF Involved In An Altercation With A Fan After AEW Dynamite
On last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite from Arena Mexico, Mistico (fka Sin Cara in WWE) defeated MJF via DQ after MJF hit him with a low blow. After the match, MJF unmasked Mistico and put it on himself.
According to Fightful Select, a fan confronted MJF at the hotel after the show, apparently upset over the angle involving Mistico. AEW sources say MJF wasn’t fazed at all — he laughed off the situation and was reportedly proud of the reaction he generated.
Despite the fan confrontation, AEW officials were said to be very pleased with how the event played out overall.
