The longest reigning WWF/WWE Tag Team Champions in History, Demolition Ax & Demolition Smash have yet to get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but rumor has it, that Ax still holds a grudge against Vince McMahon and Smash refused to go in without him.
Some ‘Haters’ always refer to them as “Legion of Doom Rip Offs”, thus failing to realise that copying certain elements, in this case the face paint, isn’t necessarily a negative thing.
The Tag Team of Demolition had been highly successful and is still considered one of the the greatest Tag Teams in WWF History.
The end for them came when a 3rd Member ‘Demolition Crush’ got added to the Team and soon thereafter, Ax was gone and the team only consisted of Crush & Smash.
After a few months the Tag Team disbanded, Smash became Repo Man and Crush got another Gimmick under the same name.
Ax still wrestled on the Indies for a few more years, using the WWF trademarked Demolition name, when he teamed with Indy Wrestler Demolition Blast.
Vince McMahon actually sued over the fact that Ax continued to use the name & the Gimmick, which is the exact reason for Ax’s above mentioned hatred towards Vince.
