1. “The Legion of Doom” The Road Warriors
While ‘Greatness’ is still to a certain extend based on personal opinion, 9 out of 10 Old School Wrestling Fans actually agree with this, so by far our undisputed #1 on the List of the Greatest Professional Wrestling Tag Teams of all time: The Road Warriors.
These 2 Larger Than Life Superstars stood out right from the beginning, when they debuted in 1982 for Georgia Championship Wrestling.
The Face Paint and the spiked shoulder pads would soon become their signature feature, and they would make a name for themselves in the AWA and various NWA Territories.
It’s safe to say, that their 80s AWA & NWA runs were the most successful chapters of their career, eventhough they still had 2 pretty good runs for the World Wrestling Federation from 1990 till 1992 and 1997-1999.
During their final days as a Tag Team in 2003, the Road Warriors wrestled for NWA-TNA on their weekly PPV #28, aswell as challenging Rob Van Dam & Kane for the World Tag Team Titles on WWE Monday Night RAW, each times in a losing effort.
Hawk passed away on October 19, 2003; and WWE’s 2005 attempt to re-create the Legion of Doom failed miserably.
