On a recent episode of his weekly ’83 Weeks’ podcast, WCW Legend Eric Bischoff spoke about Vince Russo, one of the most controversial people in professional wrestling history, with whom Eric worked together in both World Championship Wrestling (2000) and Total Nonstop Action! (2010-2011).

Here’s what the 2021 WWE Hall of Famer had to say about Russo:

“Some of the WCW talent, at the time, wanted to give Russo more time to get comfortable, and get to know Russo better. That’s fine too, you’re a professional and that’s what you should do.

I think there were also a number of talents who first started listening to Russo when they first started working with him, and they figured it out as did I that this guy is a fraud.

There is nothing under the hood when it came to his original ideas. He just didn’t understand the product.

This is despite him claiming that he wrote all of WWF’s shows even though he just took a look at it and signed off on it. I don’t believe that sh*t at all.”

Vince Russo is best remembered for his times as the editor of the WWF Magazine, that eventually got him a promotion to being part of the WWF creative team by 1996 and becoming the WWF head writer in 1997.

By October 1999, he jumped ship to Ted Turner’s WCW, where he had 2 stints as the head writer, but was eventually sent home again in October 2000.

His last major position was being the head writer for TNA from 2002 until 2004 and again from 2006 till 2011.
