• Tony Khan Called In 2 Top Stars At The Last Minute For Last Night’s AEW Dynamite Due To Lack Of Star Power

As seen on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan stripped CM Punk of the AEW World Championship and The Elite (Kenny Omega & Young Bucks) of the AEW World Trios Championship.

Death Triangle (All-Atlantic Champion Pac & Lucha Brothers) became the new Trios Champions last night, while a tournament began to crown the new World Champion.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Tony called in Chris Jericho & Jon Moxley at the last minute for this show (because they weren’t scheduled for this week’s show) due to lack of star power.

Also, plans were changed for Jon Moxley and he was put back into the Title picture as a part of the World Championship tournament:

“Moxley had an entire storyline that had nothing to do with the championship or anything like that. He was gonna be off.

He even mentioned on TV that he was going on a vacation. The storyline had to be thrown out, because him and Jericho, who was also not booked on the show this week, they were both called and told ‘the show that we had and the stars that we had — we had 4 main stars who are not on the show this week and we need you back.’

There was a team meeting before the show, and unity and everything like that.”
