4. Mauro Ranallo & WWE Have Parted Ways

Mauro Ranallo Triple H

WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo, who started calling action on SmackDown and then moved to NXT, has come to terms with WWE on his release, per the Wrestling Observer.

The departure was not on negative terms. Ranallo missed the last few episodes of NXT due to going back to British Columbia where his mother has been hospitalized. He was also looking for a less stressful schedule, which WWE gave him as he had been doing the shows from a home studio in Santa Monica, California instead of attending NXT tapings every few weeks.

Ranallo issued the following statement to the Wrestling Observer on his release:

“I appreciate the opportunity I had to realize my childhood dream of working in sports entertainment, and I wish WWE well in the future. Now I want to direct my focus and devote my time to my other projects and to my mental health charitable activities and the well-being of my mother and myself.”

WWE has now issued a statement on his release.

“WWE and Mauro Ranallo have mutually and amicably agreed to part ways.

Mauro’s passion and enthusiasm left an indelible and exciting mark with WWE and its fans, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
