Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Vince McMahon, Lana, Charlotte Flair and Eugene.

• Dolph Ziggler shared a backstage story about Vince McMahon’s involvement in his WWE love triangle storyline with Lana and Rusev.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ziggler recalled that McMahon required rehearsals for the kissing scenes between him and Lana to ensure they were believable—even having them kiss in front of Rusev in a small room.

Here’s what Ziggler said:

“I think Vince is rewarding me instead of giving me winning matches or championships was to be like, ‘Hey, he’s with this girl now.’ I think that was my reward, was that I got a girlfriend at work.

We’re in a very small room with (Lana and Rusev) and Vince is saying like, ‘Okay, we need you to be passionate together,’ and we have to practice kissing in a very small room with her husband there with Vince watching like this with a pencil (gestures) and you’re like, ‘Oh God.’”

• Before becoming a top star in WWE, Charlotte Flair was thinking about quitting the wrestling business.

However, WWE Veteran Eugene (who was her coach) motivated Charlotte and she stuck around. Here’s what Eugene said on his YouTube channel:

“After class one day at the Performance Center, a particular talent came to me and I could tell this particular talent was a little distraught down the dumps, maybe lacking in confidence. And me being the coach that always wants to lift people up, I thought I should give a little bit of inspiration to this particular talent.

That WWE champion and future WWE Hall of Famer was none other than Charlotte Flair. I simply said, ‘Oh no, you’re good. You’re gonna be really good. I mean, you are really good.’ Because I feel like she was one of the best athletes of the girls there, if not the best.

She was a college volleyball player. I mean, a phenomenal athlete, strong, big. And she didn’t tell me until much later that she was thinking about quitting and she was going through a tough time at that point and she told me that those words of encouragement that I gave her, just to simply tell her that she’s going to be good, and she has been, she is, just those simple words that I gave her kinda kept her in the wrestling business.”
