• WCW Veteran Can Not Move His Arms Anymore

Two months ago, we reported that Old School WCW Veteran Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael is suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease.

Here’s what Steve said about this disease:

“I promise you, this epitaph that I’m going to have on me now? This ain’t ever how I envisioned this was going to end.

I want everybody to realize why they’re no longer going to see me around. I thought I was ready for anything, but man, this will sneak up on you like a cheap-shotting Green Bay Packer.

I’m not going to be out in the public any more, you’re not going to see me out doing appearances, hell I can’t even sign my name any more, and everybody’s going to be speculating, ‘Where’s McMichael, what’s wrong with him?’

I’m here to tell everyone I’ve been diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, so I’m not going to be a public figure any more.”

Here’s a recent photo of McMichael:

Misty Davenport provided an update about the NFL Legend & Super Bowl XX Champion on Twitter:

“Steve McMichael cannot use his hands or arms due to #ALS, so this is NOT #Mongo. And, I formally request that you immediately stop posting about him out of respect for him & his family.”

A GoFundMe page for McMichael was set up with a goal of $200,000. That goal has already been reached as $205,175 have been raised as of this writing. Fellow WCW Veteran Chris Jericho was the top donor with a donation of $2,500.

Ric Flair recently visited Steve. Here’s what he tweeted:

“Let Me Hear The Biggest WOOOOO For Mongo On This WOOOOO Wednesday! Keep On Fighting The Fight My Friend! ❤️ “
