3. Big Title Change Cancelled For WrestleMania 33
We have noted before how the 2017 Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton was the favorite (according to betting odds) to walk out of WrestleMania 33 as the WWE Champion.
However, that’s not the case anymore. Plans for Bray Wyatt to drop the Title at WrestleMania have been nixed and he’s expected to retain the Title at the Show of Shows.
It should be noted that Orton will still be a part of the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 33 (despite him declaring on SmackDown Live that he won’t face Wyatt).
SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announced on Talking Smack that a #1 contenders Battle Royal will take place next week to determine who will Wyatt face at WrestleMania.
Current plan is for Luke Harper to win that Battle Royal and earn the opportunity to challenge Wyatt for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 33.
With that being said, a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 33 is expected – Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Luke Harper vs. Randy Orton.
