• WWE Originally Planned On Using An Idea From WrestleMania 15 At WrestleMania 37
On last night’s RAW, a Tag Team Turmoil match between the teams of Lana & Naomi, Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke, Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott and Natalya & Tamina was announced for Night 1 of WrestleMania 37.
The winners of this match will go on to face Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on Night 2.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE originally discussed having the final two women left in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal to form a Tag Team and go on to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
“Original idea prior to the Women’s Tag Team Turmoil match being decided on was to have the annual Women’s Battle Royal where the final 2 would be “winners” & form a tag team the next night.
Much like the WM 15 Battle Royal that Test & D’Lo won, then lost later to Owen & Jarrett.”

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on April 6, 1997, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Spring Stampede 1997’ LIVE on PPV from the Tupelo Coliseum in Tupelo, Mississippi.
The Main Event of this pay-per-view featured the first ever DDP vs. Macho Man match, the first of a series of classic matches between the two.
