On March 31, 1996 at the WrestleMania XII PPV, WWF Champion Bret Hart had to defend his World Title in an ‘One Hour Iron Man’ match against the challenger Shawn Michaels, who won the Royal Rumble earlier that year to earn his shot.
When it was still 0-0 after 60 minutes, Gorilla Monsoon decided the match would go into overtime under ‘Sudden Death’ rules, which is how Shawn Michaels defeated Bret Hart after a total of 62 minutes to become the new WWF World Champion.

• “The Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan •
On April 2, 1989 at the WrestleMania V PPV, WWF Champion Randy Savage had to defend his World Title against the challenger Hulk Hogan.
Both men formed the tag team The Mega Powers for almost 2 years, before breaking up a few weeks prior to this match.
The Hulkster won the match after 18 minutes to become the new WWF World Champion.
