5 Reasons Why Hulk Hogan Didn’t Ruin TNA

2. He can not be blamed for bad Business Decisions

The Hogan Haters love to blame him and Eric Bischoff for bad business decisions like TNA moving their TV slot to Monday Nights, bringing in all of his Buddies, leaving the iMPACT Zone to tape TV in other cities, burying TNA Originals, earning too much money, Creative Control 2.0, ….For the most part, these accusations are a bunch of BS though.

It’s a classic example of Professional Wrestling being a work and some of the fans still believing stuff they see on TV. “Hey, at least some things have to be real, right?” Well, in this case NO !!! Hogan and Bischoff being in charge was a typical Pro-Wrestling storyline on Television.

While Eric Bischoff did indeed also work as a business consulter for Dixie behind the scenes, and suggested a fair amount of new ideas to her, there were always other people involved in any of the decisions, be it the Carter Family, TNA Management employees or even Spike TV Officials. So needless to say, that a lot of Bischoffs ideas got nixed. Hogan has been in the room during some of the meetings, as he was the #1 name to carry the TNA banner and has certainly expressed his opinions whenever he was there, but – opposed to popular belief – he did not have a saying.

Moving TV to Monday Night was Bischoffs original idea, as it worked fine on TNT with WCW, but it didn’t work out with TNA on Spike TV, clearly a bad idea, no doubt about it.

Hogan did bring in his buddies the Nasty Boys, Bubba the Love Sponge & Ric Flair, but while the Nastys were soon fired after insulting a Spike TV Official backstage and Bubba left after a dispute with Awesome Kong, Ric Flair was actually doing great in his non-wrestling role as a manager.
If Hogan really had “brought in all his buddies” like the haters claim, wouldn’t you think Brutus Beefcake, his then best friend, would have been the first one employed by TNA?

Taping TV on the road, in different cities was Bischoffs idea right from the start, but TNA wouldn’t start leaving the iMPACT Zone on a regular basis untill 3 years later, so can’t blame him for that, right?

Did Hogan bury any TNA Originals? How? He did have creative control about his own character only, and since he hasn’t used it to become TNA World Champion, it’s safe to say that he didn’t bury anyone during his stint there.
