1. Hulk Hogan is always a draw!
It has to be said that from 2006 untill when Hogan left in late 2013, the TV Ratings on Spike TV have always been basically the same for most of the times. TNA always drew an average 1.0 ratings then, except for a few episodes, mostly those with major debuts (Kurt Angle, Booker T, Mick Foley) or major world title matches, who drew way better ratings, but then got back to normal 2 weeks later.
It has been jokingly said in the dirt sheets a few years ago, that even if Cena, Orton & the Undertaker would join TNA, their ratings would be up for a few weeks and then go back to normal after 2-3 weeks haha.
With that being said, yes Hogan did not move the average 1.0 TV rating numbers in the long term, but the ratings were indeed up for some episodes of TNA iMPACT involving Hogan, like for example at the January 4th 2010 – 3 Hour Monday Night Special where Hogan debuted, or the March 8th 2010 episode where Hogan teamed with Abyss vs Ric Flair & AJ Styles …
So the Hulkster did indeed still draw, and while nobody was able to draw TV ratings in TNA any longer than 2 weeks in a row, at least he made sure the ratings were still an average 1.0, eventho some major names have left the company during Hogans 2010-2013 stint: Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Scott Hall, Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, …
Keep in mind that for the majority of his TNA Run, Hulk Hogan worked as a manager & GM, so saying he has ruined TNA is not only ridiculous, it couldn’t be any further from the truth. Look at the TV product they have now and tell us how this is Hogan’s fault?
