5 Wrestlers Who Left Their Company As World Champions

3. Booker T (2001)

This is the only World Champion on our list, who did not leave the company on his own.

Because then WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner would not take WWF’s offer and rather sit out his AOL Time Warner contract instead, he was booked to drop the belt to Booker T during the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro.

Booker T became the WCW World Champion but it happened on the last day of the company, which was purchased by WWF World Wrestling Federation Owner Vince McMahon himself.

Vince himself demanded that Booker T would become the Champion that night and soon afterwards he would show up on WWF Television, wearing the belt.

He then feuded with the likes of WWF Stars Kurt Angle & The Rock, who both beat him for the belt during the infamous Invasion Storyline in 2001.

Honorable mention: Rhyno (2001) – who found himself in a similar scenario after ECW was purchased by Vince McMahon.
