McIntyre Turns His Back On Ziggler
It’s time for the Men’s RAW vs. SmackDown Live match at Survivor Series 2018 and Ziggler motivates his team backstage and tells them that they need to win this match at any cost tonight and show the world that they’re the superior brand (although Ziggler only wants to win this match for one reason – to get the opportunity to battle for the Universal Championship).
During the ending moments of the match, two members from both brands are left in the match. The two men from the RAW team are Ziggler and McIntyre.
Ziggler, who survived elimination multiple times during this match, tags in McIntyre. McIntyre enters the ring, but then leaves and heads to the backstage area without giving any explanation. The referee counts out McIntyre and Ziggler is stunned by McIntyre’s elimination from the match.
It’s now Ziggler vs. two Superstars from SmackDown Live. Ziggler gets destroyed by the SmackDown Live stars and loses the match.
Team SmackDown Live defeats Team RAW and this means Ziggler will no longer get the opportunity to face the Universal Champion.
Survivor Series Aftermath
Ziggler opens the post-Survivor Series edition of RAW and calls out McIntyre. McIntyre comes out and Ziggler wants an explanation for McIntyre’s actions last night. McIntyre says he didn’t feel it was fair for the other members of the RAW team, especially him as he eliminated two SmackDown Live members (out of the 3 eliminated SmackDown stars) last night, to work so hard and the end result would’ve been Ziggler getting a Universal Championship match. So he walked out of the match when the time was right.
Ziggler slaps McIntyre and they both start brawling. Kurt Angle comes out with security to separate both men. Angle says one of you will have to pay for Team RAW’s loss at Survivor Series.
Angle books Ziggler vs. McIntyre for the Clash of Champions 2018 PPV and adds a stipulation that the loser of this match will not be a part of the Men’s 2019 Royal Rumble match.
