This is part 6 of our WWE Extreme Rules 2022 live coverage (part 5 is here).
Up next is the main event of the evening and it is the Fight Pit Match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle.
This is the 1st ever Fight Pit Match on the WWE main roster. NXT Champion Bron Breakker is ringside for this match.
UFC Hall Of Famer Daniel Cormier, who is the Special Guest Referee for this match, makes his way out first. This is his 1st ever appearance in WWE.
Riddle makes his way out first, followed by Rollins. The Fight Pit steel cage is then lowered. The only way to win this match is via Knockout or Submission. No pinfalls in this match.
The match begins and Riddle is hitting Rollins with punching and accidentally hit Cormier in the face with his elbow. This leads to Cormier pulling Riddle away and throwing him face-first into the cage, and then warned him.
DC warned Rollins in the same way.
Rollins climbs up the cage and pays tribute to Rob Van Dam by saying “Seth Freakin’ Rollins” in the RVD way and then jumped on Riddle.
Seth and Matt are brawling on the top platform now, where Rollins hit a Buckle Bomb and Pedigree on Riddle.
Cormier is explaining to Rollins that the finish of the match can only happen below in the ring.
Rollins goes for the Stomp on the top platform, but misses and Riddle hits the RKO. Rollins slides and falls down in the ring. Riddle hits a Senton on Rollins from the top!
Riddle then makes Rollins tap out to win.
