During a recent edition of the ‘Road Trip After Hours’ podcast, 2017 WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long spoke about a potential feud between WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Legend John Cena and current SmackDown Superstar LA Knight.

Here’s what Theodore R. Long had to say:

“Well, I don’t know, man. You know what I mean? I’ll just be straight up with you. I’m not a John Cena fan, okay, so I don’t really know.

LA Knight, I like this kid, man, and I think it’s a great opportunity for him to work with someone like John Cena.

But I mean, you know, I don’t know if Cena is serious about coming back to wrestling.

I just don’t get none of it and I guess it’s really not my business anyway, so whatever happens, you know, it shouldn’t concern me anyway, but if that’s what happens, you know, we’ll just wait and see.”

A few months back, Teddy Long criticized Cena’s performance against Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39.

Here’s what he said on The Wrestling Time Machine podcast:

“I’m just old school and I just always believe in doing business, and I just don’t think Cena did business.

I don’t know this, but I feel that Cena is basically going to spend the rest of his career on Hollywood doing movies and stuff.

I don’t want to say this, but I don’t think his heart is in wrestling like it used to be. He’s thinking ahead to the movies and stuff now.

If you want to go and do something else, nothing’s wrong with that. Further your career, do better, I’m for that all the way. But, don’t forget where you come from.

Back in the day, a guy that was in the territory, if he was going to leave for a good bit, then he would always leave the guy that’s left in the territory strong.

I think he could have had a way better match with the kid than he did because I’ve seen him work in the ring before.”
