The last WWE pay-per-view before SummerSlam, Extreme Rules, will take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on July 19th.
After a great Backlash pay-per-view, WWE will be looking to deliver at Extreme Rules as well.
So let’s take a look at 8 matches that could happen at Extreme Rules 2020:
8. Apollo Crews (c) vs. Angel Garza vs. Kevin Owens vs. Andrade – Fatal-4-Way United States Championship Match
Apollo Crews successfully retained his United States Championship against Andrade on the kick-off show of Backlash 2020. Now that he’s done with Andrade, he’ll be looking forward to his next challenger.
Crews has been going at it with Andrade and his Tag Team partner Angel Garza over the past few weeks. Kevin Owens has been alongside the United States Champion.
Andrade and Garza also cost Owens his Title shot against Crews by interrupting their match on RAW earlier this month, so WWE could have all 4 men battle for the Title at Extreme Rules.
7. The New Day (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro – SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
After retaining their Titles in a Fatal-4-Way match at Money In The Bank last month, The New Day didn’t get a chance to compete at Backlash.
They were expected to feud with The Forgotten Sons after Money In The Bank, but the controversy Jaxson Ryker sparked probably led to The Forgotten Sons being taken off TV for the time being.
Last week on SmackDown, Kofi Kingston and Big E faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro in a Tag Team match, which ended with Nakamura pinning Kingston to win the match.
As there is no competition left for The New Day in the SmackDown Tag Team division, it looks like they’ll feud with Nakamura and Cesaro in the coming days.
A Title match between the two teams looks likely at Extreme Rules next month.
