Ruthless Aggression Era Veteran Mr. Kennedy used to wrestle for WWE from August 2005 until he was released in May 2009.

He then joined Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (TNA) in January 2010, where he performed as Mr. Anderson (his real is Ken Anderson) and even managed to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions, but was eventually fired in January 2016 after failing a drug test.

The last time he wrestled for a major promotion was in 2019, when Anderson briefly worked for Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance.

During a recent appearance on Kurt Angle’s weekly ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ podcast, the former Mr. Kennedy was asked if he’s surprised WWE never tried to bring him back in some way, shape or form.

Here’s what he replied:

“No, I’m not surprised. I said some really sh*tty things on the way out the door, and I completely get it.

I would like to eventually be able to go back there and finish it out, but I completely understand if that doesn’t happen. I did it to myself.

I was asked a few years ago, it wasn’t official, but I was asked by Daivari ‘Hey, your name came up for Royal Rumble. Would you be interested?’.

I wasn’t. I was completely out of shape, and I turned it down. But it wasn’t an official ask anyway. I just said ‘No, I’m not interested’.”
