Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler were originally scheduled to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39.

However, they got booked in the Women’s Showcase Match at WrestleMania due to Ronda’s injury, where she didn’t do much in the match and was protected.

Ronda then took some time off after WrestleMania to heal. Now, Ronda & Shayna are back and will be a part of the Fatal 4-Way match for the vacant Women’s Tag Team Titles on the May 29th episode of RAW.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Ronda & Shayna winning the Titles is step #1 in a longer story, and WWE might rush this story now because Ronda has been planning to go on a hiatus for a while now:

“The Titles were only step one in a longer-term Rousey storyline.

The timing of this is an issue because Rousey is planning on taking time off at a certain time frame which was prior to WrestleMania, and the story was to end well before that.

They would have to speed up the storyline if Rousey doesn’t extend her stay because the original plan was to establish the team as champions for a while and then do the actual storyline that this was to build to.”
