2. XFL
In 2001 Vince McMahon’s own American Football League, the XFL had it’s first, last, and only season, after an actual draft happened in 2000.
Only Vince would have the balls to take on the famous NFL, and he did.
Critics blamed him for showing a Pro-Wrestling related Football product, with The Rock opening the season with a typical Wrestling Promo, Jesse “The Body” Ventura doing color commentary, and Vince himself being on the field, announcing in full Mr. McMahon gimmick “This is the XFL”
It just wasn’t gonna work, and ceased operation after their 2001 debut season.
On a positive side, a lot of XFL Players would become quite big NFL Stars afterwards, like Tommy Maddox, Rod Smart, Isaac Davis, and Kelly Herndon.
