2. Shane McMahon
As somewhat of a surprise entrant on the list, Shane McMahon is one who retired from wrestling way earlier than he should of. Shane is the son of current WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon and certainly made his mark on the wrestling business in the time he was there.
Beginning by assisting his father with ring set up and becoming a referee for the WWF during the early-1990s, Shane eventually became an on-screen character, and an absolutely awesome one at that. Having both been a heel and babyface authority figure, plus being an active wrestler (despite never having proper wrestling training), everything Shane touched turned to gold, as he ended up being in some of the most spectacular and greatest segments, factions and matches of all time!
His death-defying leaps off the stage and constant plunges to the announce tables have never ceased to amaze with his flawlessness. When he stepped away from the wrestling business in January 2010, it surprised many people, as Shane had given up being the heir to his father’s global and incredibly successful company.
It seemed as if the future of WWE was going to be in very good hands, yet despite this, Shane decided that he did not want his future to be in the wrestling business, and tackled other ventures. Unfortunate, yes, but I don’t believe there is anyone on this list who people are hoping for a comeback more than Shane McMahon.
Plus, if you want to go back and watch an amazing Shane McMahon match… you could watch any of them, but to see how much of an athlete Shane is, check out SummerSlam 2000 against Steve Blackman, Survivor Series 2003 against Kane or King of the Ring 2001 against Kurt Angle. Trust me.
