7. Seth Rollins Forms An Alliance With AOP
Seth Rollins was on top of the WWE at the start of 2019. He was everyone’s favourite and went on to win the Royal Rumble match back in January as many fans had wished.
Rollins became “The Beast Slayer” after defeating Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. Many fans did not enjoy Rollins’ first Title reign which ended just a few months later when he lost it to The Beast at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
The Beast Slayer won back the Title at SummerSlam again, but fans started turning on him once he faced “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. Rollins’ anger kept building up for months and he finally turned heel and joined forces with AOP to bring out his dark side at the end of the year.
6. Cain Velasquez’s WWE Debut
After losing his Universal Championship, Brock Lesnar went to SmackDown to go after Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship. Lesnar did not do much with Kingston, but he sent him a message by brutalizing Rey and his son Dominick.
Cain Velasquez did not like what Lesnar did to the Mysterios as he considers them his family. After The Beast won the WWE Title by defeating Kingston in 9 seconds, Velasquez showed up to go after Lesnar.
His appearance surprised everyone and he went on to fight Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel 2019 and lost.
