The History Of The nWo

WCW booker Kevin Nash made a speech to the wrestlers before Nitro this week to establish a stricter set of rules. He told wrestlers they need to get to the arena when they are asked to, which is early in the afternoon on Mondays. Nash said they plan to do more pre-produced vignettes and interviews. A hotline number has been set up for wrestlers to call to find out which events they are scheduled for. Nash also said there will be zero tolerance for wrestlers putting up a fuss about doing jobs. Although morale is up because the organization level is higher than ever and because Eric Bischoff has been mending a number of fences with wrestlers he butted heads with or demeaned in the past, there was snickering that Nash managed to keep a straight face talking about being tardy and avoiding jobs given his well-earned rep in those areas. (Remember his “heart attack” that caused him to miss his match against Giant at the end of 1997 when he was scheduled to do the job? Only later did he admit it was “only heartburn.”)
