Expectations as of early this week are that Waltman will sign his WWF release which he had previously not wanted to sign due to some questionable stipulations and will thus be available to work for WCW. Apparently, though, nothing is signed and there still are some details on the WCW end to work out. If Waltman’s deal comes through, he may debut as the mystery fourth teammate of the NWO at WarGames since Giant is tied up in a match against Randy Savage… Although Bam Bam Bigelow is now free of his WWF contract and some in WCW believe he would be a worthwhile addition to the NWO, there is heat between him and Hall and Nash. Bigelow was among the most outspoken against The Clique behind the scenes and expressed his objections in ways Hall and Nash haven’t forgiven yet…
There was legitimate heat behind the scenes at Hogan, and to a lesser extent Hall and Nash, over the way the show-ending angle of Nitro played out. Flair, McMichael, and others believed the NWO looked too strong since three members of NWO fended off nine other wrestlers and weren’t selling. They argued it was bad for business and pure ego stroking. The counter-argument was that the Horsemen and Dungeon had just wrestled each other for 15 minutes, thus it made sense that they’d succumb to the NWO quickly since they had just been beating on each other and were tired…
